Inside Out #3
Octapod and Maitland Regional Art Gallery welcomes the you, and everyone from the local arts community, to attend the third gathering in a series of inclusive and accessible events to build the professional development and networking opportunities of the Maitland arts community. Come along and contribute to the conversation about the creative opportunities and professional pathways available for our creative community. There is no cost to participate.
Inside Out is for:
emerging, mid career or established artists with or without a disability
people interested in developing a professional arts practice through a supported environment and program
creatives who live in Maitland Local Government Area (LGA) and have the time and interest to be involved
Friday 16 December
4.30 – 5.30pm Group discussion about Inside Out program and opportunities in 2017. Facilitated by Denise Duffy.
5.30 – 6pm Viewing of the new MRAG exhibitions which includes Maitland Includes You.
Denise Duffy is a practicing visual artist who shares her passion for creativity with people from the community. Denise sources inspiration for her work from the sea and natural environment and immerses herself in water activities to keep connected. Her work with Mai-Wel in Maitland as part of the Creative Arts team enables individuals to build their creative skills, networks and professional arts practice in a supported environment. Denise is currently studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Arts) through Curtin University and is part way through a Diploma of Art Therapy.
Maitland Includes You (26 November 2016 – 5 February 2017) exhibition comprises artworks by artists who are current clients of Mai-Wel, Aftercare, Ability Links and Richmond PRA. The artists have been actively engaged in the process of preparing and selecting artworks, working out installation requirements, the invitation and opening details.
Access: Maitland Regional Art Gallery is a wheelchair accessible building, with level pathways from carpark at the rear of the building and accessible toilets.
