The 43rd Annual Dobell Festival of Art and Craft will be held over the weekend of 3rd to 5th May 2019 at the Wangi District Worker’s Club. This festival attracts in excess of 300 artworks and hundreds of craft item entries from across the Hunter Region. The substantial prize money on offer attracts a very high standard of art and craft.
All works are on sale and proceeds are donated back to the community by the Wangi Lions Club.
Opening night Prize Presentation is on Friday 3rd May at 7:00pm cost $15 includes welcome beverage, canapes and a weekend entry pass. Exhibition hours are Saturday 10:00am to 4:00pm, Sunday 10:00am to 4:00pm Entry $5.
Art will be judged by Dr Margaret McBride from Newcastle University, a vastly experienced student, teacher, writer, lecturer, curator, judge and lastly artist.
Craft will be judged by Anne Kempton a driving force in the creation of Timeless Textiles a centre for fabric artisans to exhibit and sell their craft.
