My work history encompasses arts administration, event management, grant applications, community liaison, community cultural development, retail customer service, relationship building, community arts, arts management, office and coordination roles. My academic achievements include a bachelor of fine art UNSW, Diploma of Fine Art. Currently I am seeking to return to work in the arts and cultural arena after being a full time Mum for five years and working as the President and Art Bazaar Coordinator at Hunter Arts Network.
My passion is to facilitate art and cultural events that showcases the artistic depth and talent in Newcastle and the Hunter.
After completing my Bachelor of Fine Art at UNSW I worked in the Arts and continued to be creative through my arts practice. Currently I am working in textiles producing homewares and art.
During my time as President of Hunter Arts Network (HAN) my main goal was to increase membership, connections and networks, and to also form relationships and partnerships with local councils, businesses and other cultural institutions.
Membership of HAN more than doubled, including memberships from large art organisations, which has led to some excellent initiatives and collaborations. By forming strong relationships with the three major local governments in the Hunter area, I was able to access more funding and support which in turn grew the size of Art Bazaar and also enabled other opportunities for Artists such as the City Evolutions Art illuminations on Watt Street.
By far the greatest achievement was starting the Lake Macquarie Art Bazaar, and Maitland Art Bazaar in the grounds of the City Art Galleries. These have grown and are now important dates in annual events in the Hunter. One of my other goals was to attract corporate sponsorship, and was proud to sign a contract with Moray & Agnew Lawyers for annual sponsorship of Art Bazaar.
