Lanelle Lee Chin is a Photomedia artist who works mostly with the digital side of photographic based art. She has had extensive studio and location experience in both medium format and large format photography, and has also had experience working as a commercial photographer. Her artistic practice started off in analogue 35mm photography and whilst she has moved on to working primarily with digital photography she still enjoys processing her own negatives.
Lanelle uses darkroom style techniques in her digital photographic practice, utilising Photoshop as her darkroom, or rather lightroom. Although still trying to do most things in-camera
Lanelle’s primary forms of expression within photography are documentary and portraiture because they deal first and formost with people; something quite important to consider when you want to evoke emotion in your audience.
