Through her photo-based art and photography Justine explores and challenges stereotypes of beauty, gender and sexuality and attempts to reveal parts of people which aren’t usually shared with many or any.
Justine studied Photography at UNSW College of Fine Arts in Sydney under Rosemary Laing, Jacky Redgate and George Schwarz. She continues to develop her photographic practice out of a converted carriage shed studio in Newcastle’s cosmopolitan inner west.
Justine has worked in arts advocacy and development at Tate in London, Art Gallery of NSW in Sydney and Tantrum Theatre, Hunter Writers Centre and Octapod in Newcastle.
Justine has an empathetic connection with the people she photographs and works collaboratively with her subjects, capturing the uniqueness of an individual, the dynamic between people or a place not usually seen.
Justine is available for bookings – private, public and place sessions from $180.
