Lauren commenced as Executive Manager of Octapod in June 2021, and was previously a member of the Octapod board for three years.

Lauren has worked in public galleries in Australia and the UK specializing in audience development, visitor services, marketing and public programming. She is interested in developing young audiences in the arts, as well as supporting emerging and experimental practice, and is currently undertaking a Masters of Business Administration.

Octapod is currently taking CVs from event and project producers, programmers and managers working across all artistic, creative and performative mediums.

We are gathering new projects all the time. Projects may vary in timeframe from a couple of weeks to a couple of months worth of work. and can be undertaken around your other commitments.

No matter your level of experience, if you are just starting out, or are looking for your next ‘side hustle’ – please get in contact with us.

  • Explain who you are and plot your trajectory. (give us insight into the kinds of experiences you have already, where you are right now, and where you see yourself in the future. Make this relevant to the position of a Creative Producer – help us understand where you are at in your development, and what sort of next step will be perfect for you).
  • What artistic and creative disciplines are you passionate about?

November 2021 call out

A specific opportunity exists from November 2021 to January 2022, for which we are seeking two Creative Producers with a developed network to pull together outdoor evening performances which celebrate Hunter-based artists. We’re developing a program of events so we are looking for flavour –  music, cabaret, circus, theatre, comedy/spoken word etc.

For consideration for our current project – forward your CV and a brief cover letter by midnight 18 November 2021 and in your coverletter address the following, PLUS the two points raised above.

  • Drawing from your own network and local knowledge, what kind of performances would you propose for an outdoor, evening performance (we don’t need names, we just want to understand what kinds of performances you would bring to the project)
