This Is Not Art Program 2011

TINA Festival

Of course, the office at the Pod is bustling now with growing TINA activity. The venues map is on the wall, the phone is running hot, and nearly all our energy is pointing towards TINA from now until the 29th.

Programme Online

The festival programme has gone to the printers and the online version will be available from 9am Thursday 15th September. So check it out at: http://thisisnotart.org/

As you know, TINA is made up of four independent festivals (down from five, since Sound Summit flew the nest this year to start its own life, with all our love and best wishes).

The Crack Theatre Festival is a national festival and forum devoted to experimental and cross-disciplinary theatre and performance. In 2011 Crack Theatre will unleash a program of performances, gigs, panels, forums, workshops and interventions, profiling the diversity of contemporary Australian Theatre.

Critical Animals Critical Animals musters together artists that seek out postgraduate research, practice-led development and/or quasi-intellectual conversation, to devour the critical contexts for the experimental and emerging arts and media practices in the This is Not Art program.

Electrofringe presents a program of experimental electronic arts and culture dedicated to presentation, skills development and artistic exchange. The program focuses on uncovering emergent forms with an emphasis on encouraging interaction between emerging and established artists.

The National Young Writers’ Festival is Australia’s premier event for emerging writers, publishers, performers and trouble-makers. Far from the seas of white hair, book signings and celebrity author worship you might expect, the NYWF is a DIY, hands-on conversation between equals.

Octapod News

Opportunity to Exhibit

Podspace Gallery is calling for expressions of interest for exhibiting in the front window of the new space. You may have noticed the installation that was recently added, bringing to mind a classic literature of exchanges between Henry and Liza.

Zine Library help wanted

There is room for interested people to come and check out the Pod’s incredible zine collection while helping to shelve them! Shane, a librarian, has volunteered to come in 11-2 on Fridays so you can come in while he’s here or contact Octapod for other ways to be involved.
