This is Not Art (TiNA)
Independent, emerging and experimental arts festival held annually in Newcastle over the October long weekend since 1998. TiNA celebrates Newcastle as a creative city and provides a supportive environment for artists to test new ideas, present new work, meet like-minded collaborators and have fun. More than 150 free events over 4 days. Delivered in partnership with co-presenters National Young Writers’ Festival, Critical Animals and Crack Theatre Festival. Octapod is responsible for providing the infrastructure to enable the festival to happen.

Culture Hunter
Online arts and cultural information hub for the Lower Hunter region, featuring news, events, artist profiles, sector resources. Free promotional tool. Post to the site by the 28th of the month for your chance to be featured in Octapod’s next monthly newsletter distributed on the 1st of the next month.

Smart Arts
A mentoring and development program for emerging artists and arts and cultural sector leaders. Delivered in partnership with The Business Centre (Newcastle Region). Next intake in July 2017. More details coming soon.

Write Up!
A mentoring and development program for writers based in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie. It provides an inclusive space to develop creative practice and offers peer networking, guest speakers, workshops, creative development support and public presentation opportunities. Octapod provides organisational mentoring to support the professional development of this group with a view to it being a self sustaining Artist Run Initiative (ARI) after 6 months. Supported by Accessible Arts.

Inside Out
A mentoring and development program for visual artists based in Maitland. It provides an inclusive space to develop creative practice and offers peer networking, guest speakers, workshops, creative development support and public presentation opportunities. Octapod provides organisational mentoring to support the professional development of this group with a view to it being self sustaining Artist Run Initiative (ARI) after 12 months. Delivered in partnership with Ability Links NSW and Maitland Regional Art Gallery.
