Octapod is really excited to announce the two recipients of our inaugural SeedPod Community Cultural Development (CCD) Program, which is designed to support artists to work with communities on creative projects.

Inspired by the 1 minute Jnr workshops, Tara Jones will run a series of film making workshops for a group of women, by the end of which all participants will have made a 1 minute film giving voice to a personal story. The project will end with a screening of the films. Tara will work with a diverse mix of women, encompassing women of varied ages and cultural backgrounds, new arrivals and established community members. She hopes that the skills, confidence and experience gained through the project will inspire participants to continue making films.

Helen Hopcroft will work with the community and Figtree Community Garden to design a mural which is a synthesis of the community’s collective ideas and imagery. The community will be involved at all stages of the project – from brainstorming ideas to painting the mural itself.
