THIS IS NOT ART DESIGNER WANTED Applications are now open for a Designer who will create the 2010 identity for This is Not Art (TiNA), one of Australia's most prominent and diverse festivals. Held in Newcastle, Australia, from 30 September to 4 October 2010, This is Not Art is an annual festival of emerging and independent arts and new media practitioners. This is Not Art works towards impacting and influencing the Australian public and art world by providing a vehicle for underground expression. Dedicated to the showcase and exploration of niche, unusual and unpredictable concepts, This is Not Art is a performance space and convergence point for communities of creative people from Australia and abroad. This is Not Art is experimental, collaborative and irreverent, and creates a space for innovative and passionate culture makers to present their ideas. Brief Design an identity for This is Not Art 2010. The identity must be easily adaptable, and will be used on all promotional material including flyers, posters, postcards, print media, website and the festival program.  If selected, your work will receive exposure in a national and international arts landscape, with visibility on a website that receives over two million hits annually. This position attracts a contractor's fee of $1400. This is Not Art is committed to providing opportunities for Australia's emerging and developing designers and artists. PRODUCTION MANAGER  Applications are now open for a skilled and highly dedicated individual to head the technical production of one of Australia's most prominent and diverse annual media and arts festivals, This Is Not Art. Held in Newcastle, Australia, from 30th September – 4th October, 2010, This Is Not Art is an annual festival of emerging and independent arts and new media practitioners.  This Is Not Art requires a Production Manager with experience and the confidence in their ability to manage and organise all technical and production needs of the program, whilst ensuring the smooth running of the festival as a whole. This task requires an understanding of the festival’s unique nature and its audience, and well-developed skills of time and resource management. The Production Manager is responsible for managing the running of the technical aspects of This Is Not Art, assisting in planning in the lead-up to the festival, bump in and out of festival venues, and managing the technical program throughout the duration of the festival.  In 2009, the Production Manager coordinated the technical logistics of over 400 artists, 200 events, and 20 venues over a five-day festival.
