Jump on Board – Octapod needs new sailors..
Octapod is holding its Annual General Meeting on Saturday 30 April, 1-2pm. We are looking for new board members to join the team.
Octapod has played a significant role in Newcastle’s cultural landscape for many years and it’s existence relies on the diversity and enthusiasm of it’s board members and volunteers.
With the commitment of a wide variety of Newcastle community members, over the years, the Octapod has been able to produce the internationally acclaimed This Is Not Art Festival (TINA) alongside other worthwhile projects such as culturehunter.org and the Cultural Stomp festival. TINA has been an outstanding success for the Octapod but also for the vibrancy of the whole of Newcastle. The Lonely Planet travel guide has placed the festival as the number 2 thing to do in Newcastle and even more impressive, number 2 of 1463 activities to do in the Pacific Region ahead of Bondi Beach and the Opera House. With such grand achievements amongst the Octapod Association’s everyday workings, board members gain opportunities to share and learn skills, broaden networks and engage with the colourful culture of, not only, Newcastle’s artist community but the worlds. More importantly it enables the continuation of an enormously valued community resource, the Octapod!.
