This Is Not Art Festival is preparing a squadron of locals in the upcoming weeks to get together all our energies and great company- to boost this baby back off the ground- we're talking art-making, flags, zines, rostering, fun times, promotion-- local knowledge! This position has been readvertised and now offers a $1000 fee. This Is Not Art is looking for a committed (and savvy) person to fill a key organisational role for 2010. This is an amazing opportunity for you to get involved in a vibrant, independent national festival, work with amazing people, develop your skills while meeting like-minded folk who are passionate about the arts! So, if you're a keen local who wants to roll up their sleeves and get involved in the country's most exciting cross-practice arts festival we want you to join our team. Getting involved as the Volunteer Coordinator means you can contribute to finding a (big) team of handy volunteers to plan, promote, develop and manage the festival – a perfect opportunity to get hands-on experience, test yourself, or share your talents. Volunteers Coordinator– a key HR role where you get to find, organise and manage the festival volunteers who will run the bar, set up our venues, hang the banners and survey our audience. Greetings STOMP supporters! Richard de Martin has finished up as the STOMP Festival director, after dedicating himself to the event for 2 years. It is now time for someone else to step up and take on this role. As a long time supporter of the festival, Octapod is inviting expressions of interest from anyone keen to apply for this position. Please find Job Description attached. TAFE Outreach will run a FREE digital storytelling course at Octapod - with a youth focussed approach to exploring the theme for this year’s Cultural STOMP Festival - “Be The Change”. |
Art Sounds went off with a bang in February, with over 100 people descending upon Octapod and other venues in the Civic Precinct for the launch of this new FREE monthly performance event. |

One position has already been given to the Cultural STOMP Festival, and Octapod is currently seeking applications for the second position from individuals or small groups (3 people max) interested in using the Octapod space for arts and cultural activities. Applications close on Monday 8 December for Art Sounds, a new and innovative performance program linking Newcastle City Council (Newcastle Region Art Gallery, Newcastle Region Library, and the Loft Youth Venue), the Octapod Association, Hunter TAFE and the University of Newcastle. |
Electrofringe is looking for a creative, energetic and highly organised individual to work with the current Co-Director on the 2009 program.
