Board members wanted
As an organisation that seeks to contribute to a sustainable creative sector in the Hunter, we are looking for people to join the team who have bright ideas, relevant skills and connections across the community, government and private sectors.
Ideally you will have an interest in the arts, a solid understanding of how non profit organisations work, good networks, as well as have the time and energy to support Octapod.
We would love to hear from you if you have skills and experience in any of the following areas: fundraising, law, communications/PR/marketing, arts policy, Newcastle/Hunter revitalisation/development, community engagement and governance. That list is not prescriptive, but gives you a sense of the sort of skills and experience we are looking for.
The board operates on a consensus decision making model, so we are looking for people who are good team players.
The time commitment is a two hour monthly meeting as well as attending to emails and ongoing tasks plus any special projects that you take on. Ideally you would commit for one year, or two.
This is a voluntary position.
