Make a donation before 30 June and claim it back on your tax!

New members join Octapod board

There has been a change of guard with a few board members moving on, and some new members stepping up! We farewell outgoing President, Reichil Cheetham, who is now enjoying the sun in Malta as well as general members Damian Castaldi and Justine Lloyd. We thank them for their contribution to Octapod and will no doubt see them around town! We welcome new recruits - Dwuan La Trobe, a member of Kumera Soup Kitchen (one of Octapod's residents) as well as Bernadette Smith, who first got involved with Octapod through our weekly filmmakers group.

We are still looking for a couple more board members - people with ideas, enthusiasm and experience in the arts, community and business sectors are most welcome to get involved. For more info, contact Christina Robberds on 4927 0470 or podadmin@octapod.org

Multimedia Cultural Stories Project

Octapod has received a small grant from the Community Relations Commission to run a series of digital storytelling workshops with young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. We have linked up with the Multicultural Neighbourhood Centre in New Lambton as well as Waratah High School to offer ten Year 9 students the opportunity to learn how to produce a short digital story on the theme of 'friendship'. The project will run for consecutive weeks in June/July 2010 and will be featured on culturehunter.org in August.
